Contracts & Subagreements
The Office of Sponsored Research Services (OSRS) provides University-wide contract and subagreement administration and negotiates acceptable terms and conditions with sponsors for agreements that are not pharmaceutical industry sponsored clinical trials. The Office of Sponsored Research Services also provides communication, education, and training on contracts and subagreements to the Washington University research community. The Center for Clinical Studies (CCS), also known as the Center for Applied Research Sciences (CARS), negotiates pharmaceutical industry sponsored clinical trial contracts for Washington University Medical School and its affiliated hospitals.
The Office of Sponsored Research Services (OSRS) creates, negotiates, and administers all subcontracts flowing from research activities funded by federal and industry sponsors. The following tools will assist faculty and department administrators in the creation and management of subagreements.

Subaward User Business System (SUBS)
The SUBSystem allows principal investigators (PIs) and department administrators (DAs) to initiate and manage subawards. SUBS joins the Proposal Development System (PDS) in the university's Adminstrative Information System (AIS) and is also available through the Research Gateway. SUBS replaced the Subaward Wizard, effective April 2012.
