Competitive segments starting prior to 7/1/04, were awarded at the previously negotiated 53% predetermined rate. Budgets prepared for non-competing continuations of these awards should continue to apply the 53% rate, and the 53% rate will be used for actual indirect cost recovery throughout the remainder of the competitive segment.
Competitive segments starting on or after 7/1/04 (fiscal year 2005) but before 7/29/05 should have been awarded at the 53% rate as a provisional rate. Budgets prepared for non-competing continuations of these awards should apply the appropriate rate for each fiscal year – i.e., 53% for FY 2005 and 2006, 52.5% for FY 2007 and 52% for FY 2008 through FY 2010.

Competitive awards issued after 7/29/05 will be awarded at the appropriate rate for each fiscal year. If the competitive segment extends beyond FY 2010, the 52% rate will be used for the remainder of the segment.
