How to Use the Menu of Activities

Grey Menu Bars

The grey menu bars on the left organize the resources provided within the Gateway into categories.

Education and Featured Programs Box

The Education and Featured Programs box, located to the right of the main menu, provides direct access to several web-based educational programs related to conducting research at WUSTL. Links to the Research Events calendar and helpful webpages related to research education are also available.

Interal and External Resources Box

The Internal and External Resources box, located under the Education and Featured Programs box, provides a list of websites for commonly-accessed WUSTL resources, offices, and committees that deal with issues related to research administration, management, and compliance. A complete listing of research entities is accessible via the drop down menu "Offices & Committees" in the top banner. You may also search for research-related information by subject area via the "Compliance Areas" menu.

Top Banner Navigation and Search Feature
If you cannot locate the information you need via the Menu of Activities, try the OVCR Search Engine and/or the drop-down menus, both located in the top banner of the page.

Technical Functionality

The Gateway Menu of Activities provides direct access to many secure WUSTL systems. Each system and/or resource requested via the Menu opens a new browser window. To access additional systems, return to the Menu of Activities browser window.

User Security

Please follow the simple steps below to prevent unauthorized access to your protected information:

1. Never share your password with others

The University's Information Security Policy requires each user to be responsible for protecting their username and password from unauthorized use. Individual users will be held responsible for any security violations associated with their usernames.

2. Logout at the end of your session

To logout of the Gateway, click the "Logout" link above the picture of Brookings Hall on the Menu of Activities.

3. Close all browser windows

All windows opened by links on the Gateway Menu of Actvities carry your secure login information— even windows that navigate to unsecure websites. If left open, an unauthorized user may be able to successfully access a secure system behind the Gateway.
