Please join me in welcoming two new members to our Research Administration Leadership team.
Meredith Moore, Ph.D., joined us on September 1, 2017, in the newly formed position of Director of the Institutional Animal Care & Use Committee (IACUC). Meredith will be responsible for managing the IACUC administrative office to complete timely reviews of animal protocols, assuring compliance with animal regulations, providing training and communication programs, developing policies, procedures and systems to support faculty research efforts and working closely with faculty, the IACUC faculty committee, veterinarians, lab managers and other key stakeholders. Andrea Morris has been promoted to Manager, Human Research Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement (HRQA/QI). Andrea has been part of the Quality Assurance program for several years conducting post-approval review of human research protocols to assure that the research is conducted ethically, responsibly and safely in accordance with federal regulations, the approved protocol and University policies. Andrea will work closely with the faculty-led HRQA/QI committee to identify best practices, education and other opportunities to help faculty conducting research with human research participants improve the quality of their projects.
