NIH Salary Cap for FFY2020

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) has increased the Salary Cap to $197,300 (Executive Level II). This new cap rate has an effective date of January 5, 2020, and it applies to competing and non-competing awards. Find the full text for this notice NOT-OD-20-065 here.

Effective 3/1/2020, the NIH salary cap edits in HRMS will be updated to apply the new $197,300 (Level II) rate. Effective 2/19/20, the NIH salary cap edits in RMS will be updated to the $197,300 rate.

Sponsored Projects Accounting (SPA) has revised the NIH Salary Cap Policies and Procedures. The revisions are noted in blue text. This document will be available on the SPA website.
