NIH Salary Cap for FFY2023

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) has increased the Salary Cap to $212,100 (Executive Level II). This new cap rate has an effective date of January 1, 2023, and it applies to competing and non-competing awards. Find the full text for this notice NOT-OD-23-056 here.

Effective January 24, 2023, Workday will apply the new $212,100 (Level II) rate. Here’s the link for the Salary Cap Calculator Worksheet.  Note: you can manually modify the salary cap rate based upon the applicable effective date via cell A13 in the worksheet.

Effective January 27, 2023, the NIH salary cap edits in RMS will be updated to the $212,100 rate.

Sponsored Projects Accounting (SPA) will be revising the NIH Salary Cap Policies and Procedures, and that document will be posted to the SPA website soon.
