Computing Basics: Software Applications Used in High Performance Computing Environments

1:00 p.m.-2:30 p.m.

Becker Library and Research Infrastructure Services (RIS) are hosting a series of Computing Basics workshops in March and April. These virtual workshops are designed for those without any prior experience using the Unix Command Line Interface (CLI), Docker container technology, and High Performance Computing (HPC).

The workshop will introduce text editors, shell and batch scripts, Docker container technology, and the ssh protocol. Attendees will learn how to write, edit and run shell scripts, how to create a simple Docker container, and how to connect to the RIS compute platform.

Registration is required. The Zoom link will be provided prior to the workshop.

Please visit Becker Library’s Research Computing services page or the RIS Website for additional information, and to access previous workshop recordings.
