This session of the Lunch & Learn series will be presented by Martha Jones, Executive Director of the Human Research Protection Office (HRPO). The session will cover the preferred strategy for working with HRPO, the preferred process for contacting HRPO, how to include faculty in the process, elements in IRB application and anticipated issues.

Learning Objectives

  • Be able to identify the roles and activities for faculty and community partners in submissions to the IRB
  • Understand the process for contacting and working with HRPO and the IRB
  • Be able to identify and develop the key information to prepare in developing a protocol and application for submission to the IRB

Know Your Level of Community Engagement is a series of Lunch and Learn sessions focused on community-engaged research. Community-engaged research is defined and explored along the continuum on which it occurs.

Parking

Free, limited visitor parking is available in two-hour increments in the lot in front and back of the building. Do not park on Medex or spots for 660 S. Taylor. If the lots are full or your meeting is longer than 2 hours, please park in the Clayton Avenue Garage (Clayton and South Taylor Avenue). Parking validation will be provided for the Clayton Avenue Garage upon request.

Parking Permit Reciprocity: The Medical Campus recognizes Danforth Campus yellow, red, and Eliot permits in the Clayton Avenue Garage only. Danforth Campus red annual permits (including the official business permit) are recognized on any medical campus surface lot.
