The COMPETES Act requires Washington University to provide appropriate training and oversight in the responsible and ethical conduct of research for undergraduate students, graduate students, and postdoctoral researchers who are supported by the National Science Foundation (NSF) to conduct research. Washington University has developed a Compliance Plan, procedures, and other supporting resources to comply with this requirement; use the navigation links at left to view these resources.
Research Education and Information and the Office of Sponsored Research Services will host training sessions to help NSF project administrators understand and fulfill their responsibilities related to the COMPETES Act.
Research administrators who are or may in the future be responsible for NSF sponsored research projects must attend one of the sessions.
