Core Details

Training is provided by the core technical staff for the Seahorse Biosciences XF96 Flux Analyzer. Training includes experimental design and execution and analysis of data. An Amaxa 4D Nucleofection device is also available for use by investigators.

In the Cell Culture Laboratory we perform basic cell culturing services for researchers.   We routinely thaw, grow, maintain, expand, freeze, mycoplasma test and store cell cultures for laboratories.  We’re equipped to grow both adherent and non-adherent cells to a researcher’s required growth point, in amounts from a single dish to multi-liter harvests.  We work closely with your lab to assure your cells are ready for use at the required time.  A variety of commonly used cell lines are available for sale to researchers.  We also maintain a long-term cell storage facility, utilizing a liquid nitrogen jacketed -180°C freezer.  Liquid nitrogen storage is also available.

In the Stockroom section of our facility we routinely stock approximately 1500 commonly used lab consumables including cell culture media, supplements, items for PCR, modifying reagents, electrophoresis products, etc.  Special ordering for non-stocked items is available.  We carry items from the following vendors:  Agilent Technologies (Stratagene), Antibody Research Corp., Bio-Rad, Cell Signaling Technol., Clontech, Eppendorf, EZ BioResearch, Fermentas, Fisher Scientific, G Biosciences, Gold Biotechnol., Greiner, HyClone, Integrated DNA Technologies (IDT), Invitrogen, ISC BioExpress, LabSource, Lamda Biotech, Leinco Technol., Lonza, Mayflower Biosci., Med Cal Pipette Svcs., Mediatech (CellGro), Microflex, Midwest Scientific, Miltenyi Biotec,New England BioLabs, Promega, Qiagen, Roche, Santa Cruz Biotechnology, Stem Cell Technol., Sigma Aldrich, USA Scientific, and VWR Scientific.

We also maintain multiple “satellite” supply centers scattered across the Medical school campus for several vendors, including Fisher Scientific, Promega, Roche and Sigma Aldrich.  These sites allow for after hours and weekend pickup of consumables.  Most items are available at a significant discount without associated shipping and handling charges.  In our efforts to fully service the Washington University research community we attempt to stay adaptable to changes taking place on campus so we can continue to provide top quality products and services to researchers.  Therefore, new products and vendors are added if there is enough interest on campus. No PO number is necessary at the time of purchase.  Researchers are billed monthly via the electronic AIS system or by hardcopy.
