6th Annual ICTS Symposium and Poster Display

Join the Institute of Clinical and Translational Sciences (ICTS) for the 6th annual ICTS Symposium. This year’s theme centers on the unique role of translational science, which focuses on innovation that overcomes challenges, and the gaps that exist between early-phase research and clinical trials, and between clinical trials and implementation into clinical practice and population health.

“Mind the Gap: Overcoming Barriers in Translational Science”

Keynote Speaker:

  • Ruth O’Hara, PhD
    Director, Spectrum, Stanford Center for Clinical and Translational Research and Education
    Senior Associate Dean of Research, Stanford School of Medicine
    Lowell W. and Josephine Q. Berry Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences

There will be two panel discussions following the Keynote.

The first panel will discuss “Addressing the Gap between Early-phase Research and Clinical Trials” with speakers:

  • Kory Lavine, MD, PhD
  • Rachel Presti, MD, PhD
  • Christina Stallings, PhD
  • Fumihiko Urano, MD, PhD
  • Moderated by Christina Gurnett, MD, PhD

Presenters will each address a facet of research in the T3/T4 stage of translational science and then convene for a panel immediately following to discuss “Addressing the Gap Between Clinical Trials and Implementation into Clinical Practice and Population Health” with speakers:

  • Laura Marks, MD, PhD
  • Nandini Raghuraman, MD, MSCI
  • Moderated by William Powderly, MD
