Human Subjects Research Ramp-up Survey

Published July 23, 2020

Dear Washington University Faculty, Staff and Trainees:

Human subjects research at Washington University is currently in the “Orange Phase”, which includes limitations on the range of allowed research activities and extensive precautions to ensure a safe environment in which viral transmission is avoided. As we closely monitor the ramp-up activities, it is important that we are aware of the issues and challenges you face, to inform future planning activities and decisions. As we plan a move to the “Yellow Phase” with greater research activity, we will need to address any problem areas prior to the transition.

To facilitate this assessment, the OVCR has developed a brief anonymous survey to obtain feedback on your experiences, where the challenges are, where procedures need to be adjusted, and where communication needs to be improved.

If your research team (faculty, staff, trainees) is actively conducting in-person human subjects research (clinical or non-clinical), we ask that you please complete this survey so we can determine where to target our resources to help you best.

To complete the survey, please visit this link. The survey will be available now through July 29, 2020, and will take approximately 10 minutes to complete. Please contact our assistant Tera Jarvis (tjarvis@wustl.edu) with questions or issues with the survey.

Sincerely,

Suresh Vedantham, MD
Assistant Dean for Clinical Research
