The National Institutes of Health (NIH) Extramural Loan Repayment Programs (LRP) application cycle opened September 1, 2022, and will close on November 17, 2022. Please see this procedures document for important information regarding the LRP process and obtaining approval from the Office of Sponsored Research Services (OSRS).
The NIH Loan Repayment Programs are a set of programs established by Congress and designed to recruit and retain highly qualified health professionals into biomedical or biobehavioral research careers. The LRPs repay up to $50,000 annually of a researcher’s qualified educational debt in return for a commitment to engage in NIH mission-relevant research.
