NIH: Reminder of eRA Commons ID Requirement for All Personnel on the R&R Senior/Key Person Profile Form

Published January 11, 2024, via Research News

National Institutes of Health issued the following reminder.

This Notice serves as a reminder and updated guidance to the requirement for eRA Commons IDs for all Senior/Key Personnel.

An eRA Commons ID must be entered in the “Credential, e.g. agency login” field for all Senior/Key Personnel, as defined in the NIH Grants Policy Statement (NIH GPS 1.2), and Other Significant Contributors (OSCs) listed on the R&R Senior/Key Person Profile Form.

Currently, applicants will encounter an eRA system warning if the “Credential, e.g. agency login” field is blank or does not contain a valid eRA Commons ID.

The validation is anticipated to be updated from a warning to an error in mid-January in advance of due dates on or after Thursday, January 25, 2024. Errors must be corrected before the application can be successfully submitted to the agency.

Applicants are encouraged to check that their Commons account is active well before applicable due dates.
