Upcoming Change for Research Monitor Access to EpicCare Link

Published October 9, 2023, via Research News

This message applies to any study teams who work with Research Monitors whose EpicCare Link accounts were created prior to Tuesday, August 1, 2023.

All Research Monitors must complete and sign the DocuSign user form by Thursday, November 30, 2023, or their access to EpicCare Link will be blocked on Friday, December 1, 2023.

Research Monitors can access the DocuSign user form using this link.

Research Monitors can also access the DocuSign user form directly by accessing www.myepiccarelink.org and clicking “Research Monitor User Agreement Form.”

If your monitor’s company affiliation and/or email address has changed, please forward this email to notify them that their action is required in order to maintain access. If your Research Monitor has already completed and signed the DocuSign user form, they do not need to complete it a second time.

Rationale for requiring this DocuSign user form: These are the new requirements for EpicCare Link as mandated by BJC Compliance, the WU Privacy Department, and both Legal Departments. The completed form is required for EpicCare Link Managed Access and there are no exceptions. This process allows us to maintain the same level of oversight and accountability for research monitors that we require for BJC & WU employees accessing Epic. User data is integrated with FairWarning and allows us to monitor all access to any patient information as required by law.
